Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

A NEW PROCESS for lining the interiors of road tankers which carry acid waste has been developed by an Essex chemical company, FL-craft Products Ltd, of Great Wakering.

The process is already in use by Redland Purle on five of its acid tankers. The grp lining is claimed to meet the necessary structure and chemical requirement of waste disposal tankers. It is said to reduce the cost of tanker preparation by doing away with the need to grind welds flat and polish tanking interiors.

The lining, which can be .applied to both new and existing tankers, can be quickly repaired, it is claimed, in the event of damage breaking a section of grp. In the event of such damage acid cannot seep under the surrounding lining, thus 'limiting damage to the steel in this exposed area. The grp lining is designed to be capable of withstanding the vacuum inside the tank created during filling and is said to be being capable of being applied to a 10,500-litre tank in less than two weeks.

Above One of five Redland Purle tankers fitted with a new grp anticorrosion lining, this vehicle is now undergoing trials.
