Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

No Leyland double-decker bus is exhibited at Kelvin Hall, although the company's faithful old retainer in this market, the AN68 Atlantean, is available in the demonstration park.

The Leyland Titan is, not surprisingly, absent although comments from senior Leyland Passenger Vehicle division executives lead me to believe that the integral double-decker is as yet by no means completely dead.

The only double-deck bus inside Kelvin Hall is a MOW Metrobus with an Alexander body in the livery of Alexander (Midland) Limited. The bus was one of three Metrobus underframes bodied by Alexanders of Falkirk for the Scottish Bus Group and is exhibited by the bodybuilder.

Duple is represented at the Show by a 24-seat executive coach based on the Tricentrol shortened Ford T152 chassis. The Dominant Two coach on the Ford stand is equipped with reclining seats, tables, reading lights and a lavatory.

Volvo Bus has a B58 coach Phassis at the show. The chassis is fitted with Volvo's air overleaf 5uspension, now becoming popular with operators, and the 7F six-speed gearbox.

Volvo also has manual and automatic examples of the B58 and a Voith D851-equipped B55 double-decker available for Jemonstrations at its nearby Barrhead depot.

At the Show overflow site in

artick, DAF is exhibiting the 'irst bodied example of its rear3ngined SB2005 DI-IU coach :hassis. This coach with its 172kVV (230bhp) 8.25-litre -ear-mounted diesel marks )AF's increased attack at the 3ritish private long-distance :oach market and will be avail

able in addition to the maker's mid-engined chassis.

Unfortunately for DAF, the vehicle had not arrived at Partick by Press day, as the body was only just being comPleted at Plaxton's Scarborough works.

From Ireland, Asco has an updated version of its Clubman 685 midicoach on a Fiat chassis in the demonstration park. This coach features an improved interior layout, new roof trim and a redesigned roof line.

Bedford has no psv at the Show, but has its entire range including the JJL minibus, YLQ, YMT and VAS coaches available for inspection at its nearby dealers, SMT of Finnieston Street, Glasgow.

The Scottish Motor Show displays no new trends, but shows for the first time a new psv chassis designed with simplicity rather than sophistication in mind, The Cub, and the VVadham Stringer Vanguard are, for me, the starlets of the Show.
