For 32 years only motor vehicles took part in the annual hiring ceremony to mark the traditional right of the Worshipful Company of Carmen to ply for hire in the City of London. Roadline put the clock back at this year's event with a beautifully restored Carter Paterson 30 cwt cart drawn by a horse hired from a Hertfordshire totter. Fortunately, the animal was able to do a little better than its owner's occupation would suggest.
