I read in your October 13 issue comments by representatives of the big manufacturers that although they expected to have a lot of car people on their stands at NEC, at least this would give the truck makers a real chance to show the public what commercial vehicles are really like.

Yet when I went round the stands on Saturday afternoon, only DAF and Volvo had their cabs open. I really can't see how the rest expect to create favourable interest. In fact, from comments I heard, they did exactly the opposite.

i would be most interested to read what Bedford, ERF, Foden, Scania, Seddon Atkinson and the like have to say.
