THE development of properly designed seats is being hindered by international commercial and political interests in the motor industry, according to the Back Pain Association of Grundy House, Somerset Road, Teddington, Middlesex TW11 8TD.

As a result, working days are lost each year in Britain as a result of back pain, says the Association in a new booklet Lifting Instructors' Manual.

The cost to the nation in sickness benefits alone could be as high as £56 million.
