The newly appointed national executive council of the Road Haulage Association on Wednesday elected N. R. Wynn chairman of the Association. W. McMillan and J. P. Wells have been re-elected vice-chairmen. Mr. Wynn's was the only chairmanship nomination put to the council. He succeeds P. H. R. Turner.

Noel Wynn is director and secretary of Robert Wynn and Sons Ltd.. Newport, Mon, one of the United Transport group of companies. He practised for five years as a solicitor before joining the family business in October 1951. He has served on a number of national and local committees of the RHA and has been a chairman of the South Wales area. He has been a vice-chairman of the Association for the past two yea rs.

Mr. Wynn was chairman of a study group on co-operation whose report was presented in January 1966. Many of its recommendations have since been put into effect. He was also a member of the licensing study group whose report formed the basis of evidence submitted by the RHA to the Geddes Committee on licensing.

William McMillan is a director of James Hemphill Ltd., Glasgow. and has been with the company continuously since 1931 apart from his war service. He has been a vice-chairman of the Association for the past two years.

John Wells has been managing director since 1957 of his family business Wells and Son (London) Ltd., which was reconstituted following a period of nationalization.

Mr. McMillan and Mr. Wells are members of the RTITB.
