Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

II Residents In a Shropshire town have won a year-long fight to prevent heavy lorries making a short-cut through the area to factories alongside the M54 at Telford.

Shropshire County Council has approved a night-time ban on trucks and will also restrict them from using minor roads in Shifnal during the day.

The moves came after Wrekin MP Peter Bradley raised concern about HGV noise levels and traffic dangers on behalf of the residents.

Vehicles over 7.5-tonnes will be prevented from using most roads through the town during the day and the ban will be extended to the busier A464 Priorslee Road, Victoria Road and Albrighton Road at night.

Jean Rickers, who formed the Shifnal Road Safety Group, says she is delighted with the ban.

"Heavy lorries have been a huge problem for Shifnal," she says. "They come hurtling down minor roads riot designed for them and miss children by a matter of inches. I started this campaign a year ago.

"If I had wanted 38tonne lorries whistling past my doorstep I would have built a home on the hard shoulder of the M54."
