Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

III A crackdown on lorry theft has been launched by police in Northamptonshire. Operation Convoy is set to last indefinitely and is aimed at combating the crime which cost the UK haulage Industry £30m last year.

The scheme has the following aims: To educate lorry owners and drivers regarding the security of commercial vehicles; To enhance the quality of safety measures at overnight/long stay commercial lorry parks; To prevent and detect lorry crime. Area crime prevention officer Anna Biggs says lorry drivers must "not park at the roadside overnight but use lorry parks". Higgs says police have officers patrolling these parks and have asked the groups to improve security.

A freephone number for people to ring with any information on lorry crime is 0800 7318392.

Northamptonshire Police have also outlined advice to lorry drivers to prevent truck thefts: Don't park alone in a vulnerable area on the roadside; • Don't discuss your route openly or Information about your vehicle which may later be used to target it;

wl Check windows and fit grilles riveted behind the glass area. Consider additional locks for all opening points and consider fitting slam locks for shutters or rear loading doors;

Consider alarms/tamper systems for curtain-sided trailers; Report crimes as soon as they happen.
