• The Freight Transport Association is urging members who have not yet relicensed their vehicles after replating them to a higher weight to do so immediately.
Figures from the Department of Transport show that a large number of operators appear to have up-plated since the Budget without relicensing, says the FTA.
The FTA believes this could be operators wrongly assuming that relicensing is not necessary if the vehicle remains in the same VED band Of mistakenly thinking that all tax discs can run through to their expiry dates before action has to be taken.
