• F. Baldry, of Hereford, was granted a new A licence for six vehicles in Birmingham last week, subject to the surrender of his existing licences but because he had been fined at magistrates' courts on three occasions for breaches of the Road Traffic Act, the West Midland LA, Mr. J. Else, deferred the grant in respect of one vehicle for four months, under section 174.
On September 22, 1966 Baldry had been fined £40 by Leominster magistrates for defective steering and brakes Abbey Dore magistrate's had imposed a £100 fine on April 10 1967 in respect of 10 unauthorized use offences and he had received a total of £275 in fines at Peterchurch on September 23 1968 with regard to breaches of conditions and unauthorized use of a vehicle. An application for a new one-vehicle B licence was withdrawn.
