The Duke of Edinburgh has agreed to act as patron of both the Study Week and the Congress, which will meet concurrently from September 21 to 26.

Plastic Tanker Trials: With a view to cutting down tare weight, the British American Oil Co. Ltd. is using an experimental semi-trailer tanker with glass-fibre-reinforced plastics tank to deliver petrol and fuel oil in Ontario, Canada. The vehicle to date has covered some 30,000 trouble-free miles. The semitrailer weighs 4-5 tons, compared with about 5-5 tons for an aluminium vehicle of similar capacity.
