I T is announced that Rothesay Tram ways Co., Ltd., took over, on Monday, the 29 buses of McKirdy and McMillan. Ltd., operating between Rothesay. Mountstuart and Kilchattan Bay. The Rothesay concern has also acquired eight or nine buses belonging to smaller operators.

ANOTHER WELSH DEAL

vET another acquisition of a bus service has been effected in South Wales, making four such transactions so far this year.

Llanelly and District Electric Traction Co., Ltd., which runs trolleybuses in Llanelly, has bought, and is now sunning, the Llanelly-Dafen and local bus services of R. A. Davies and Sons, Ltd., Bryng,wyn Garage, Halfway (Llanelly). The purchasing company does not intend to convert the petrol-bus service to trolleyhus working. This is the first motorbus service to be run by the Traction company.

NEW LIVERPOOL BUS PLAN.

GRADUAL elimination of trams from Liverpool within the next 10 years is visualized in a plan incorporated in a motion shortly to be submitted to the city council by Mr. C. H. Leftwich, ,a city councilor. The new plan envisages an amalgamation of the tram and bus systems, whereby buses running within the city's central area would link up with tram services to the outer districts.

YORKSHIRE EXCURSION FARES..

proposals for the revision of Tiel!ursion fares in the Yorkshire Area, on which the Yorkshire Regional Fares Committte has reported to the Traffic Commissioners, will come befoed the Commissioners at a sitting at York, on January 28.

DUPLE'S 400-500 BODIES.

IT is announced that Duple Bodies 1 and Motors, Ltd., London, N.W.9, has in hand orders for between 400 and 500 coach and bus bodies, many being repeat contracts. Amongst the well-known companies which have placed orders are Barton Transport, Ltd., Western Welsh Omnibus Co., Ltd., East Yorkshire Motor Services, Ltd.. Lincolnshire Road Car Co., Ltd., and Red and White Services, Ltd.

TWO NEW STATIONS IN YORKSHIRE.

SCHEMES for the erection of two new bus stations in the West Riding of Yorkshire are announced. Arrangements have been completed for thefl purchase by the West Yorkshire Road Car Co., Ltd., of property in the centre of Leeds, for the purpose of erecting a station. Otley Urban District Council has agreed to sell a plot . of land in that town to a syndicate of operators for a similar purpose.

The Leeds property, in Vicar Lane, Lady Lane and Edward Street, has a total area of 1,800 sq. yds. The West Yorkshire and associated companies already have a station in Wellington Street, Leeds, on the opposite side of the city's central zone. , A correspondent learns that the West Yorkshire Road Car Co.,. Ltd., and Mr. Samuel Ledgard, of Leeds, ash taking an equal share in the financing of the Otiey scheme, although other operators may also participate,
