ARegarding initial allowances, 20 per cent
was allowed in 1946 and this remained until April 1949 when it was increased to 40 per cent. In April 1952 and for the following year no allowance was made, but in April 1953 the rate of 20 per cent was restored. This lasted until April 1958 when it was increased to the present rate of 30 per cent.
Throughout this period since 1946 the annual allowance has remained at 25 per cent.
