Stress relief

V our recent Sound Off by Ilona 1 Richards (CM 3-9 Dec) was an interesting article for transport managers to read.

Would Ms Richards like to have to explain to the customers where their lorry is, and that despite mobile phones we won't be asking the driver for an ETA in case of stressing them out? Perhaps if she wants to organise her own day in the lorry, she should start her own haulage company.

Does anybody really imagine transport managers ask for information because they've nothing better to do? As for sharing responsibility, when drivers start hitting things. I know who it is in most companies who has to deal with the third parties, the insurers, and explain the rising insurance costs to the boss.
