Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Citroen UK has added six new models to its front-wheeldrive C25 light CV range, including a 3.5-tonne GVW van and chassis cab, and two diesel-powered panel vans.

The heaviest model in the C25 range is now the C25D Turbo 1800, which is available as either a long-wheelbase high-roof van, or as a chassis cab. It is powered by a 2.5litre indirect-injection turbocharged diesel which develops 70kW (95hp) with peak torque of 224Nm (1651bft) and has a five-speed gearbox as standard.

The long-wheelbase Turbo 1800 van is a direct competitor with the Peugeot Talbot Express 1800 and the Fiat Ducato Maxi, which have the same 10.1m3 body shell as the Turbo 1800: all three are built at the SEVEL van plant in Italy.

While the Talbot Express 1800 shares the same turbodiesel engine as the C25D Turbo 1800, the Ducato Maxi has the direct-injection turbocharged 2.5-litre engine also used in the Iveco Ford Daily. Payload on the C25D Turbo 1800 is quoted as 1,795kg.

The Turbo 1800 chassis cab will be offered with the choice of either a Hawson Garner alloy dropside or an aerodynamic Luton van body, similar in design to that produced by Hawson Garner for the Ford Transit (CM 20 December 1986). Citroen has dropped the 3.1-tonne GVW C25D 1500 long-wheelbase van, which was previously the heaviest of the C25 panel van models.

For PSV applications, the turbo-diesel engine is also fitted in the C25D Turbo 1500 high-roof 16-seat mini-bus.

Alongside the 3.5-tonne Turbo 1800, Citroen has brought in two additional diesel-engined panel vans plated at 2.5-tonnes GVW. The high and low-roof C25D 1000s have the new XUDA9A 1.9-litre naturallyaspirated engine which is used in Citroen's BX saloon. The four-cylinder XUDA9A develops 53kW (71hp) at 4,600rpm and has a maximum torque of 127Nm (94bft). Like the Turbo 1800, the C25D 1000 van has a five-speed synchromesh gearbox.

Citroen UK says the latest C25D 1000 is its response to rising demand for a low-priced 1000kg payload diesel van.

The previous C25 models — the 1.8 and two-litre C25E petrol vans and the 2.5-litre C25D 1400 diesel — will still be sold, but all C25 vans now feature a revised grille with new badges.

Citroen UK says its heavyweight Visa van, revealed by Commercial Motor in August, will not be arriving in Britain until next summer.
