Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PRODUCTION has been started hy, Lansing Ragnall, Ltd., Worton Road, Isleworth, Middlesex, of its power-operated pedestrian-controlled pallet truck, which was illustrated in "The Commercial Motor" on July 23. The standard model has a turning radius of only 49 ins., and both the standard and platform models have a load capacity of 4,500 lb. Unladen weight is 10 cwt.

A new electric circuit has been incorporated for ease of operation by female or juvenile workers. All controls are in the handle. Forward or reverse movement is directed by a simple finger switch, and the speed is controlled by twist grips on the handle. The brakes are applied by raising the handle to a vertical position, and as a safety precaution the handle automatically springs up should the operator lose grip. This device not only applies the brakes but also switches off the motor.

A built-in charger is fitted as standard and each vehicle is provided with a plug and lead, so that the operator merely has to plug-in to the nearest 15-amp. power point and switch on. Charging starts autbmatically.

Used in conjunction with a fork lift truck, the new machine can take over all feeder work, thus releasing the fork truck for stacking duties only. When fully loaded it will, the maker claims, climb gradients of I in 12. The infinitely variable-speed system now introduced provides smooth starting and precise "inching."

The forks on the standard model are 36 ins, long and 27 ins. wide, but they can be supplied in several lengths. The height of the forks in Ate lowered position is 31 ins., with a power lift of 4 ins. The overall length is 5 ft. l ins., and the wheelbase 3 ft. 91 ins. Platform models are made in. widths of 20 ins. and 26 ins. The platform is 6 ins, high in the lowered position and has a power lift of 4 ins. Lengths of 36 ins., 48 ins. and 60 ins, are available.
