The North Western Licensing Authority, has authorized Fox's Motors, Lid., of Manchester, to take over the 'haulage business of G. W. Leggett and Son, Ltd. This fact was made known at Manchester recently, and it was stated that the price agreed with the official receiver was £6,000. Longer Driving-hours Order, The Minister of Transport has made an Order varying the hours of drivers of C-licensed vehicles during Christmas and the New Year. Its effect is that drivers can drive for 12 hours on not more than two days in each of the three weeks ending December 18 and 25, 1937, and January 1, 1938.

Non-dazzle Bulbs for Ordinary Head Lamps.

A new range of Mazda 6-volt and 12-volt bulbs, from 24 watts to 60 watts, and costing from 2s. 10d. to 5s. 6d., has been introduced by the British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., Aldwych, London, W.C.2. They are described as Regulation bulbs and, when used in an ordinary headlamp with a fixed reflector, emit a flat-topped beam which, whilst affording adequate illumination for driving, is claimed not to dazzle other drivers.

When this new type of bulb is correctly set and focused it complies with the Lighting Regulations.

A U-shaped filament is responsible for the non-glare characteristics, and it is unquestionable that the removal of the need not only for manipulating a switch but also for effecting material changes to equipment, will be much appreciated by operators.
