Mr. Kelley commenced his experience in the motor trade about the year 1906,

passing through the repair shops of H. AL Hobson, Ltd. During the war, although a pre-war Territorial, he served with the M.T., R.A.S.C., and was ultimately in command of the Douai Vehicle Reception Park, where over 1,000 vehicles were parked for disposal.

During more recent years he joined the staff of Bean Cars, Ltd., being manager of that company's commercialvehicle-sales department in London. After resigning this position he became so interested in the Citroen 35-cwt. that he brought it to the notice of Auto Auctions, Ltd.

Mr. Frost has had active association with the coachbuilding trade extending over a period of more than 20 years and he was formerly manager of the London Improved Motor Co.,. Ltd. Mr. A. Hunter, the company's former works manager, has been promoted to the position of general manager.

We learn that, at a meeting of the Belfast Omnibus Co. which was recently held in Belfast, Mr. C. W. Reeve, the managing director of the Associated Equipment Co., Ltd., was elected a member of the board.

Maximum Weights on a Ferry.

Owners and drivers of motor vehicles which cross the River Mersey by the Birkenhead ferry boats should note that there has of late been several prosecu tions for breaches of the Dock Board regulations, which stipulate that the maximum weight allowed on the floating roadway is 18 tons. In a recent prosecution it was suggested by the Birkenhead magistrates that the regulations should be more clearly worded, particularly the clauses that refer to axle weights and maximum weights. The over-riding condition is that no single vehicle and load, including the trailer and load, must exceed 18 tons.

A New Oldham-Huddersfield Service.

The watch committee of °Main Corporation has, subject to certain conditions, supported an application by Messrs. Joseph Hanson and Sons, of Milnsbridge, Huddersfield, for licences in connection with a proposed bus service between Oldham and Huddersfield.

Alteration in an institute of Transport Paper.

At the meeting of the Institute to be held on January 13th, Mr. Ashton Davies, 0.B.E., will submit for dis-. cession a paper on "The Co-ordination of Transport," instead of upon the subject originally selected, viz., "Air Transport in Relation to Railways."

Warrington's Profit on Buses. Warrington Corporation motorbus fleet, in the half year ended September yielded a profit of £3,454, as compared with £1,288 from the tramways. The bus-operating expenses have increased by £1,721 and are equal to

13.413d. per bus-mile. Out of the credit of £6,188 in the appropriation account two new buses have been Purchased.

Municipal Buyers of Briatols.

Rotherham Corporation which already operates 39 Bristol buses, has recently placed an order with the Bristol Tramways and Carriage Co., Ltd., for a number of Bristol four-cylinder, Belt passenger chassis. Another municipality which has recently ordered Bristol models is Stockton Corporation, which is 'buying two 26-seater one-manoperated buses.
