CM'S busy afternoon with the Vasa team uncovered a hafful of offences, reflecting effective targeting of dodgy vehicles.

There were 19 full vehicle checks by vehicle examiners resulting in 11 prohibitions: two delayed and nine immediate including three S-marked showing a significant maintenance problem. A total of 19 defects were found: three steering; four brakes; one suspension: six tyres; two wheel nuts; two lights: and one oil leak.

Most of these vehicles plus a further nine were checked bytraffic examiners. Theyfound seven overloads and issued prohibitions; some of the operators will be prosecuted. A further four C&U offences were found. There was also one driver without a licence; one drivers hours prohibition; one drivers' hours offence; and one vehicle with no insurance. One truck was impounded.
