Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Sales of commercial vehicles fell by almost 10% during

July, the first monthly fall since December 1993. But despite this, sales of trucks and artics are still 40% up on the same period last year.

According to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders July registrations of all CVs fell by 9.8% on the June figure, showing that growth in the economy may be faltering. Despite this drop, sales for the year are still 14.6% up on the same period in 1994.

Artics and rigids remain the bright spot in an otherwise gloomy picture. The SMMT says that 2,220 CVs over 3.5 tonnes were registered during July. Apart from Leyland Daf, the manufacturer to record the biggest increase in sales this year was Scania, up from 1,726 registrations between January and July 1994 to 3,043 this year.

Volvo increased from 2,718 to 3,468 and ERF from 1,188 to 1,721.
