• The trial ut Burnage, Manchester, hauliers Michael and Kathleen Duffy, their transport manager and one of their drivers, for a series of alleged offences, was adjourned by Stockport Magistrates when the transport manager, Saleem Khan, failed to appear.
The Duffys and Khan are accused of using a vehicle without an operator's licence, without insurance, without a test certificate, with defective brakes, with defective steering, w3ith dangerous parts, and with no 0-licence identity disc displayed. The driver of the vehicle concerned, David Wild, is accused of using it with defective steering, defective brakes and dangerous parts.
