FHE handling of palletized loads is made easier with the Unit-Lift equipsent available from the York Trailer ;o., Ltd.

Basically, the Unit-Lift is a gantry hoist thich runs along the side raves of the chicle platform, these being extended by antilever members, fitted at the rear then the hoist is in use. The pallets are ifted by steel bars which are passed arough the pallet frame and picked up y special lifting frames on each side. Vhen lifted above the platform height, he gantry travels along the body and the allets can be dropped on the platform. Skids for pallets up to 5 ft. long x 7 ft. 6 in, wide can be lifted by the hoist which has a maximum load capacity of 3 tons. Power is provided by a petrol engine mounted at the top of the gantry, which drives a direct-coupled hydraulic pump. The hoist can he controlled from either side of the gantry.

_.-hanges to Shutters A FTER three years' production of —1their Nyloy roller shutter, Dover Zoller Shutters, Ltd., London Road. Zomford, Essex, have now introduced a lumber of important changes in the pecification.

The spring roller casing, which was ireviously a 4-in.-diameter tin-plated heet-steel pressing, is replaced by a ight-alloy extrusion of the same liameter. No change has been made to he design of the nylon end blocks (these ,re fitted at deli end of alternate shutter aths), but the solid nylon guide blocks it the ends of the bottom rail are eplaced by double-nylon-wheel assem'lies.
