Mr. E. E. Hughes has been appointed a director of Castrol Equipment, Ltd. This company was, until July 2, 1962, known as John B. PiIlin, Ltd.

The Dartford Tunnel Joint Committee have appointed Captain Frederick Leslie MiIlns to be the general manager of the Dartford Tunnel Undertaking. He will take up his duties on October I.

Germany, it is now announced that Dr. Konrad Ende, Dr. Ing., Dr. Ing. E.h., has been appointed chairman and Herr Ewald Leveloh vice-chairman of the company's administrative council.

The Minister of Transport has appointed County Councillor C. H. Hudson to succeed County Councillor A. W. P. Newton (who has been unable to attend Public Sittings) to be a Traffic Commissioner for the Yorkshire Traffic Area. Councillor Hudson, who is also a member of the Haltemprice Urban District Council, has been serving as a Deputy Traffic Commissioner representing the County Boroughs, Municipal Boroughs and Urban Districts. He will now relinquish his appointment as a Deputy Traffic Commissioner for the County Boroughs. Municipal Boroughs and Urban Districts and represent the three Ridings of Yorkshire on the Panel of Traffic Commissioners.

Bowmaker. Ltd.. announce that Mr. P. H. M. Cooper, formerly manager of Harrow branch. has been appointed manager of Watford branch following the amalgamation of Watford and Harrow branches. Mr. H. J. Loughran, formerly manager of Watford branch is to be manager of Brentford branch as from August 20. Mr. G. .1. Hadland, manager of Brentford branch is to be manager of Crawley branch as from that date. Mr. K. year a total of some 115,721 corn. mercial vehicles. including special vehicles and excluding tractors, were produced in the E.E.C. area. This compares with some 126,947 units for the corresponding 1961 period. Only in Holland did output increase—from 80f to 1,319 units—over the year, production falling from 66,289 to 61,191 in West Germany, from 42,593 to 36.598 in France and from 17,159 to 16.613 in Italy.

Output of goods vehicles in North America rose, however, deliveries increasing from 264,500 to 302,000 in the United States and from 17,500 to 20.10C in Canada.
