THE sale of low-quality vehi light bulbs becomes illegal fri September 24, following .1 publication of regulations Transport Secretary Da% Howell.
From that date, most vehi light bulbs on sale must be marked to show they meet w European standards. Howev the Regulations will apply al to light bulbs sold as entir, separate units, and not as part a vehicle.
A large number of vehicl particularly from the Far Ea are sub-standard in two mi respects, according to the Gc ernment.
They are often less bright th those of the correct standard this is very important for din tion indicators and brake ligh And the filament in headlar bulbs is often inaccurately lac ted, causing glare or poor-qu ity beam, with unexpected dE areas.
