MR. A. . M. BAIN, . of Duns, Berwickshire, was granted an extra vehicle of 3 tons unladen weight on his B licence by the Scottish Licensing Authority, Mr. W. F. Quin, last week in Edinburgh. The Authority was told that the firm already had vehicles of 7 tons capacity for the carriage_ of road and building materials and lime.
It was stated that the extra work for the new vehicle would come from a contract to carry some 4,000 tons of material in connection with road improvements in the Border area. In the past:IvIr. Bain had to hire extra vehicles, but there ware limited facilities available for hiring.
