EMPLOYEES of the Ford Motor Co., Ltd., are to receive wage increases of 3-31 per cent. For a 411-hour week skilled workers will receive 7s. 5d. an hour, and semi-skilled, 6s. 9d.
The company offered to reduce the basic week to 40 hours if the afternoon tea service were abandoned. A further meeting of the national joint negotiating committee will be held next Friday to consider the question.
Claims for a 371-hour basic week for night workers, three weeks' paid holiday and a holiday bonus of £25 were rejected.
