ASPECIALmeeting of Wallasey Town Council was yesterday due to discuss a proposal by the transport committee to increase the undertaking's boat and bus fares, and to abolish concessionary combined bus and boat contracts on ferry services across the Mersey. The committee is seeking approval for an application to raise bus fares under 5d. by 'a N. and those over 5d. by Id.
City of Oxford Motor Services, Ltd., has applied to the South Eastern Traffic Commissioners for fares revisions. These include abolition of workmen's tickets, and that the minimum fare applicable to season tickets should be 4d. A general increase of the mileage-based scale is also sought.
