Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

If sales during the first six months of 2003 are maintained, the used truck market could grow by a third this year. Kevin Swallow reports.

Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders for the first half of this year show that if the used truck market continues to grow at the same rate it has the potential to increase by a third compared with 2002.

A more conservative approach would suggest that the market is more likely to expand by 12')0.The first six months of the year saw 41,356 used trucks re-registered and sold — to the end of last year 73,583 similar transactions took place.

Demand is strongest for two-axle rigids; sales look set to increase by more than 10%. Between January and June of this year 26,000 transactions were recorded with the most popular age-group in this sector being sevento-10-year-old vehicles, followed by four-tosix-year olds. But it is vehicles over 10 years old that do the most business:10,735 were sold in six months.

More than 10,500 tractor deals took place, and 4,731 of these vehicles were between four and six years old. Unlike the van market.
