A TRUCK DRIVER has been arrested after a woman was killed when her car was crushed under his truck on the A442 in Shropshire.
The incident happened at around 8am last Thursday (9 October). Teacher Alison McLean died when her grey VW Polo, in which she was travelling south, was crushed under a green Mercedes truck that careered down an embankment. A spokesman for West Mercia police says: "We had to wait for a crane to lift the truck off the car, until then we didn't know how many people were trapped inside.
It is not yet clear how the accident happened — the truck driver has now been released on police bail pending further enquiries."
