Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ONgrounds of national importance. road improvement schemes around the country's main ports should be given top priority, the National Association of British Manufacturers stated last week in a report to the Ministry of Transport. Making its interim comments on the general conclusions set out in the report of the Rochdale Committee on the Docks, the Association declares that immediate attention should be given to:

The possible introduction of one-way and lorry route systems to and from the docks, a control of deliveries on the lines of the system at Manchester and the establishment of reception depots for small export consignments, an extension of arrangements for the clearance of import and export goods at collecting centres away from port areas or at individual factories and. one of the most interesting suggestions, the forming of " commando squads" of dockers at the ports, fully equipped with fork lift trucks and other handling appliances, ready to go to any part of the dock area at short notice. Their job would be to load or unload whenever a hold-up occurred and there was a back-log of cargo.

Fee Increased A FEE of 5s., instead of Is., will in ri future be charged to those requiring details of vehicle registrations from licensing authorities. This is to meet the increased administrative costs involved in searching vehicle registers kept by County Councils and County Borough Councils in Great Britain, particularly where inquiries have to be referred from one Council to another.
