Ken Hatcher was re-elected chairman of the Road Haulage Association at the national council meeting in London on Wednesday. Jack Male and John Silbermann were re-elected vice-chairmen.
Wing Commander G. C. McCarthy has been appointed national secretary of the Institute of Traffic Administration in succession to Fred Pywell, who has retired. Laterly, Mr McCarthy was in charge of operations at RAF Brize Norton responsible for the RAF's world-wide air transport operations.
David G. Styles, 36, joined David Lowe & Associates, consultants in transport and distribution, as an associate partner. He has also been appointed a director of Fleet Planning Ltd, an associated company. Mr Styles was previously general manager for P. A. N. Freight Commercials Ltd of Coventry. At one time he was group training manager for British Road Services.
Neil Morrick, 35, who joined B. S. G. International Ltd in 1973, has now been appointed managing director of Bristol Street Motors Ltd, Birmingham. Norman Houit, 41, previously md of Bristol Street Motors Chrysler dealerships in Oxford and Banbury, takes over the Ford dealership in Southampton.
John Houston, 45, becomes group executive director of Edbro (Holdings) Ltd. He was previously marketing director of Compair Construction and Mining. Vernon Maskew, 45, who was chief planning engineer of Edbro's hydraulics division, becomes assistant works manager. G. L. N. Tuson, group transport manager of Roneo Vickers Office Equipment Group since January 1969, is leaving at the end of May to become group transport manager of the Departmental Stores Division of Debenhams of London.
Simon Cuming, a New Zealander who was group management accountant with United Transport Overseas between 1969 and 1972, has been appointed European financial controller of Kwikasair Ltd.
Andrew Park becomes fleet engineer for Christian Salvesen (Transport) Ltd. For the past four years Mr Park has been fleet engineer for Drybrough's Brewery, Edinburgh.
Ivor James becomes distribution manager of Freightliners Ltd ; he was previously manager of the company's north-eastern area.
Barry Collis, 36, previously northern area sales manager of Crane Fruehauf Trailers, becomes sales manager of Tate Trucks Ltd, part of the Tate of Leeds group.
Albert E. Curtis, ICS regional manager UK, moves up to vicepresident and general manager of Integrated Container Service Trailers with operating responsibility for five ICS Trailer companies which lea:se out trailers in the UK, Belgium, Holland, France and Scandinavia. Freddie Jeffersen remains manager—ICS Trailer. Ken C. Kingham, formerly container marketing manager in the UK, becomes ICS regional manager—UK.
