The 1.S.-12 adhesive, produce( by the Intercontinental Chemica Co. Ltd., is claimed to effort 50 per cent of its maximurr bond strength within a fey minutes, attaining maximun bond strength within a few hour:
Nhen stored at room tempDrature its strength does not deteriorate for at least eight -nonths. Storage in a domestic :ype refrigerator increases its full-strength life to over 12 months.
Smooth non-porous surfaces, such as steel, require only one drop of the adhesive per 2 sq.in. of area. While maximum bonding strength is achieved if the surfaces are thoroughly clean and dry, extensive surface pre-treatment is unnecessary, A solvent wipe with acetone, butyl alcohol or methyl-ethyl-ketone (MEK) is normally sufficient to prepare the surfaces for application of the adhesive.
