Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• There is a continuing shortage of tipper vehicles in Lanarkshire to handle the expanding volume of road and building material demanded by road construction and building programmes. This was indicated in Glasgow last week when the Scottish LA, Mr. A. B. Birnie, granted a B licence for one tipper of 61 tons to John Murray, of Stonehouse, conditioned road and building material within 15 miles.

Main demand for tippers in this area hac resulted from the opening of a new whinstone quarry at Stonehouse, producing 1,00C tons a day and expected to increase its outpui to 3,000 tons a day.

Gavin L. Hamilton, owner of the quarry, supported the application. A spokesman fol the company said it had been unable to finc tippers within the area.
