• A three-day exhibition of bulk handling and bulk storage equipment, pneumatic conveying systems and ancillary equipment for powders and granular materials was held at the Tate and Lyle depot in Wandsworth this week.
Organized by the Tills Engineering Co. Ltd., the exhibition included a 20-ton ISO container made by Tills and called the Rotainer. The container is compartmented to enable the carriage of part and mixed loads.
• Mr. V. F. Frayling, a director of the Perkins Engine Group, awarded a two-year industrial fellowship to Prof. A. R. Emerson, Dean of Social Studies, University of East Anglia, on Wednesday. Known as the Perkins Research Fellowship in Transport Economics, it is believed to be the first of its kind.
• Draft regulations to require the fitting of amber reflectors as a safety aid to the sides of certain long vehicles have been circulated by the MoT.
