T" many advantages offered by battery-electric vehicles for local delivery work should soon be recognized by the nationalized industries, according to the annual report of the Electric Vehicle Association of Great Britain, which has just been published. The report says there have already been encouraging signs from the Post Office and the British Transport Commission,
whilst electricity boards will probably extend their use of these vehicles.
At the end of 1957 there were 23,868 driver-seated electric vehicles on the roads of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. During the year there were 3,260 new registrations.
In the pedestrian-controlled category, 184 new registrations brought the total number in use to 10,984.
