National Carriers have promoted Dick Pole to manager of their Peterborough branch.

He has been with National Carriers since its formation in 1968. Mr Pole has been acting branch manager at Peterborough since October last year and this appointment is official confirmation of his position.

David Walden will be the new Radlett depot manager of Lowfield Storage and Distribution. Before moving to Lowfield Mr Walden was assistant depot manager at the Chesham depot of SPD. In his new position he will have overall responsibility for the operation of the 40 vehicles based at Radlett, plus the administrative and warehousing functions.

Bristol Omnibus Company, a subsidiary of the National Bus Company, has appointed a new assistant chief engineer. He is Dennis Lush, currently an area engineer with South Wales Transport, which he joined in 1972. Mr Lush takes up his appointment on April 1. Another NBC subsidiary, Eastern Counties, has also announced the appointment of a new assistant chief engineer. Eric Jackson will succeed Mr C. Mannell, who is to retire on April 30. Mr Jackson is currently assistant engineer (depots) at Lincolnshire Road Car.

Truckparts has made several management changes.

Barry Perks is now senior manager at the head office at Willenhall. He has been with Truckparts since the company was formed in 1974.

Replacing Mr Perks as Derby depot manager is Richard Woolley, previously manager at the Telford depot. Taking Mr Woolley's place at Telford is Peter Taylor, who rejoins Truckparts after an interlude of 14 months with ITT.

Three new appointments have recently been made by Woodhead Manufacturing, the makers of Woodhead shock absorbers.

Tony Glynn is the new director/general manager, having had previous experience in the industry with Oldham and Small and Parkes.

The new director of sales and marketing is Geoff Phipps. He has an engineering background as well as previous sales experience with a number of companies.

Alan Bond has been appointed Woodhead's home market sales manager.
