QTATUTORY effect has now been k...7given in R.H.(18) to the latest proposals of the Road Haulage Central ,.Wags Board, for the amendment ,of certain of the -provisions of the Wages.

carefully examine R.H.(18).. .

,Regular haulage workers with Landon , area home depot: (i) Drivers of vehicles other than, steam wagons or tractors, carrying capacity 1 ton or less, under 18 years, per week 50s. 6d.; 18 and under 19, 58s. 3d.; 19 and under 20, 64s. 3d.; 20 and under 21, 725. 3ch; 21 or over, under 1 ton, 83s.; 1 ton, 87s. .where employment commenced after June8. 1932; to drivers employed as such on or before that date by' the same employer, 92s. .

(ii) Drivers of steam wagons or tractors, other than tractors not exceeding 2 tons unladen used exclusively for

(iii) Drivers of traators not exceeding . 2 tons. unladen used exclusively for furniture-rerrioval work, 97s.

. (iv) Drivers of 21 years or over under training as drivers, during the first four weeks;-on a steam wagon, 88s.; on other • vehicles of I ton or over, 86s.; in

the case of vehicles under 1 ton, 83s.

(v) Drivers of all types of vehicle (other than tractors) with trailer, 6d. per day over rates specified in (i), (ii) and (iv). This is raised to Is. where the gross laden weight exceeds 22 tons, or 24 tans where the drawing vehicle is a steam wagon. It does not apply, however, to an articulated vehicle withont additional trailer or to a single trailer with a tractor used only as a drawing vehicle, (vi) Mates (all ages), steam wagons, 88s. (vii) Statutory attendants under 18 years, 555. 3d.

Other road-haulage workers,. 21 years or over, 86s., Nirith reductions down to 29s. 3d. for those over 14 and under 15.

Subsistence allowance.—When rest odcurs away from home depot, 9s. for each period not exceeding 14 hours'

duration. If rest exceeds 14 hours, worker would be deemed to be on duty and entitled to be paid, in addition to the 9s., at the time rate for the hours in excess of 14, but not in excess of 194,. If the rest exceeds 19i hours, a further Ss. 6d.If the reet exceeds 24 hours, these arrangements will apply until the worker resumes actual duty. Special provision i% made for those who are transferred for more than a week.
