LAST YEAR was another record one for the Dover Harbour Board, with both freight and passenger traffic increased beyond its expectations.
Road haulage traffic grew by over 21 per cent, and the number of units passed 400,000 for the first time ever.
Passenger traffic was up by over 10 per cent, despite the temporary decline in hovercraft movements.
Gross revenue of 0.73 million was up by 24 per cent, but the net surplus rose only by 7.4 per cent to E1.01 million because of heavy interest charges.
