FOR the purpose of discussing common problems a meeting of timber hauliers and representatives of London's port and shipping interests was held in London last week. The chair was taken by Mr. A. E. Drain (A, E. Drain (Transport), Ltd., Deptford), chairman of the Timber Hauliers Section of the R.H.A. Metropolitan and S.E. Area.

Several members of the group were present. in addition to representatives of the Port of London Authority, the Ocean Shipowners Group Joint Committee, the London Shipowners Dock Labour Committee and the London Association of Public Wharfingers.

One result of the discussion will be the preparation of a memorandum that, among other things, will incorporate advice to hauliers on the safe carriage of timber.
