• Labour's chief transport spokesman Bob Hughes is to continue in his post, at the request of Labour leader Neil Kinnock.
In contrast to last year when Hughes lost his place in the Shadow Cabinet, the Aberdeen North MP came seventh in the ballot for 15 places, With Labour already having published its Fresh Directions transport policy document earlier this year (CM 14 February), any major changes in the party's general policy are unlikely at this stage.
