• A new coach for inter city tourist travel, the Ukraina-71. is now being built at the Lvov bus works in Russia. The vehicle is a successor to the Ukraina Lux model, which has earned numerous awards at the International Coach Rallies at Nice, including the Grand Prix.
The utmost convenience for passengers is provided on the Ukraina-71, including TV sets, a snack bar with refrigerator, coffee
machines, a gas stove, washing facilities, and so on. Each seat has individual lighting and ventilation.
Preparation for the construction of large passenger vehicles is also being made at the Lvov works, and several variations of the Laz-699 are being designed for urban traffic, tourist travel and inter-city services. Features of the new vehicles will include wide entrances and spaciousness to reduce the time at stops and hence increase average speed.
Production area of the Lvov works will be doubled by 1975, many technological processes being improved and obsolete equipment being replaced. It is claimed that the works will be the biggest undertaking of its kind in the country.
