• Salopia Saloon Coaches of Whitchurch, Shropshire, has been taken over by Bee-Line Roadways in a £300,000 merger. Agreements have already been signed and negotiations for the takeover of the 70-coach firm are expected to be completed this week. Salopia, which employs more than 100 people, will continue to operate as before under the existing general managers, Mr Bryan Parkes and Mr Stan Povey. There will be no redundancies and it is expected that Salopia will be expanded.
