olvo lost no time in stamping its mark on the Isle of Man's issue of special stamps to celebrate its fire service.
When PR supremo Trevor Longcroft saw their Volvo Turntable Ladder stamp he contacted the Manx Post Office. It agreed to despatch invitations to Volvo's Christmas press party (held in February) bearing the island's distinctive postmark.
Philatelists with a transport bent may be interested to know that the other four stamps in the series feature appliances by Dennis, Meruweather, Douglas and a Laxey Hand Cart.
