'HE DODGE 300-Series range will be increased by three new nodels and two new engine options from June onwards. All the 00-Series models are to be redesignated with a 'C' prefix. Thus he C17 is a two-axle rigid plated at 17 tonnes solo or 32.5 tonnes or drawbar application.
Available with a choice of hree wheelbases — 3.35m, .025m, and 5.0m (lift, 13ft, in and 16ft Sin) — the C17 is itted with the same B16 enMe and Chrysler 813 eightpeed range-change gearbox

The turbocharged BS 16 enme develops 159kW (216bhp)
t 2200rpm with a maximum orque of 825Nm (6101bft) at ,400rpm. The 813 box is a mailer version of the original ight-speed unit fitted to the rriginal Barreiros at its UK ntroduction in 1973.
A single-drive version of the ight wheeler — designated he C3082 — is now included in
the range and uses the same mechanical components in 5.22 and 6.39m (17ft 2in and 21ft) wheelbase form. The Dodge definition of wheelbase is from the centre line of the front axle to the mid-bogie position.
The new C32T is an interesting vehicle for the UK operator, as it is a day-cab tractive unit designed specifically for 32-ton operation. Again the same mechanical components are used. The C32T has a wheelbase of 3.06m (loft) and a kerb weight of 5.76 tonnes ( 5 tons 13cwt).
This utilises the same frame section as the heavier model but with a longer wheelbase, while the 13-tonne axle is
replaced by an 11-tonner.
Existing Dodge 38-tonne models will soon be available with a choice of two higher power engine options. These will be the Chrysler BSS 36, an air-to-water charge-cooled version of the current BS 36 engine and the Cummins NTE 350, which was announced for the rest of Europe at the Brussels Show,
The Chrysler engine develops 225kW (30Ibhp) while the NTE 350 produces 243kW (326bhp). With both these engine options, a new rear axle ratio of 5.09 to 1 will be available.
