FRAIKIN SA, one of Europe's largest truck rental and contract hire companies, has now opened its new British subsidiary, Fraikin Ltd, in Hounslow, Middlesex.
The Paris-based Fraikin Group operates more than 9,000 commercial vehicles, with an annual turnover of £31m.
The UK operation is the third Fraikin company to be set up outside France. In 1976 Fraikin SA was created in Geneva, and at the beginning of 1978. Fraikin acquired General Trucklease Inc, of Atlanta, Georgia. Plans are already under way for the acquisition of other companies in the USA.
Fraikin Ltd hq offices are located af the new Central Park Trading Estate in Hounslow, Middlesex, and have been operational since November.
General manager of the new company is Peter Fawcett, who last week told CM 'For many cases a Fraikin contract hire arrangement can reduce costs as well as conserving capital and releasing management time."
