A CODE of practice for th use of school buses was ca led for in the Commons lag week during a safety debate
The code should COVE mechanical safety, the trainin of the driver, rules for thos using the buses, and principle to be followed by those res ponsible for the children, sai Michael McNair-Wilson (Tory Newbury).
But no such code was envi saged by Under-secretary fo Education Neil McFarlane, whi said that their existence coul( not guarantee that accident would be reduced.
