TANDEM AXLE semi trailer designed for loads up to 16 tons is in production with J. Brockhouse Co. Ltd. The new model is offered engths up to 45 ft. and employs a -spring suspension system in which rear ends of the springs on each side slipper-mounted in brackets, connecthrough bell-crank levers and tension . to give non-reactive characteristics. ti hollow rubber springs are mounted ve the leaf springs, which have their t ends located by Metalastik bonded 3er bushes.

frame. Both tubular and channel section cross-members are fitted, and the tapered outriggers are also pressed steel channel. Standard braking equipment is 15-25 in. by Sin, two-leading-shoe with wedge expanders, but S-cam-operated 15-5 in. by 6 in. leading-and-trailing-shoe units are offered as an option. A two-line, airpressure braking system is standard, with air-hydraulic operation as an alternative.
As examples of prices, a 26-ft.-Ion version to the standard specification, with a timber floor and headboard, would cost £1,494, whilst the cost of a 45-ft.-Ion semi-trailer to the same spx:fication would be £1,780.
