Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

INCENSED at the increase of 7/ pence a gallon on dery imposed by the Chancellor, last week, coach and lorry operators in London organised a massive demonstration outside the BBC studios at Shepherds Bush on Monday.

Mr Jim Lewis, a director of the coach firm Pioneer Continental of Richmond, Surrey, which operates 20 coaches, told CM that he expects more than 300 vehicles would jam the approaches to the BBC.

"Either Denis Healey was being silly and didn't realise what he was doing or he did it very cleverly and got the hydrocarbon oil tax through unnoticed," he said.

Mr Lewis went on to say that he was certain that most of the people in the country had not realised what hydrocarbon oil was and what effect the increase would have on the cost of living.

The object of the protest was to open a debate on the issue and Mr Lewis said the protesters hoped to get time on the air either to put the vehicle operators' case or to argue it with the Chancellor.
