Chrysler has appointed Arthur Blakeslee director of design with the European operations in succession to Roy Axe, promoted to design executive with Chrysler's styling centre at Detroit.
Mr Blakeslee, a 41-year-old American, has been with Chrysler since 1960 and he will be based at Whitley, Coventry. Mr Axe joined the old Rootes Motors as an apprentice in 1953, becoming chief stylist in 1967 and three years later design director for Europe.
RTG Commercials of Ilford have appointed Ernest Butler and Derek Dawkins as new directors of the company which is the Seddon Atkinson area group distributor.
Mr Butler will be primarily responsible for the sales division and Mr Dawkins will be the financial director.
Another Seddon distributor, SA Commercials of Scunthorpe, have made management changes. David Frankish becomes the new general manager and Brian Monkhouse becomes the sales manager.
Mr Frankish moves to his new job from being service manager with Lex Tillotson, Hull, •and Mr Monkhouse moves from being regional sales manager for Curtis Systems engineering oil suppliers.
Former national chairman of the Road Haulage Association W. McMillan has been appointed by P8r0 Road Services to a senior managerial position with special responsibility for operational and environmental safety.
He moves to the new job from being managing director of James Hemphill, formerly his family business.
Clive Noakes is to be the marketing and sales director for Fiat (England) Ltd after spending two years as sales director of Volkswagen (GB).
