Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ASum of £333,226 in compensation for nationalization was awarded last week by the transport Arbitration Tribunal to three related haulage companies of Central Street, London, E.C.1. Of this sum, £121,8,28 is payable to R. Davis (Haulage), Ltd., £104.342 to Risdon Seaver and Co., Ltd., and £107,056 to J. E. Read (Haulage), LW.

Mr. J. Richardson, solicitor for the British Transport Commission, said the application was for confirmation of three agreements dated October 22, 1952. These were for amounts higher than agreed by the Tribunal last week.

Originally 11 companies, operated from Central Street, were involved, but only three of the agreements now had to be confirmed. Because the businesses were greatly interlocked they were treated as a composite undertaking for the purpose of assessing the global figure of compensation.

The Tribunal stated they were satisfied as to the division of this global , sum.

PROTECTION IF LIGHTS FAIL

By introducing a small unit into the wiring circuit of a vehicle, the dangers associated with the failure of a rear light can be eliminated. Further. in the event of a dead short tieing experienced, instead of all the obligatory lights failing, only the one in the circuit directly affected goes out Associated with the unit, which is being marketed bs Messrs. Biomlev and Marshall. 150 MedwayRoad. Gillingham, Kent, is a warning lamp which is fitted on the instrument board or in any other convenient position. In the event of a failure of any kind in the lighting circuit, the warning light glows immediately.

The most important function of the device, however, is, to enable the stoplight to take over should a rear tigt fail. To cover any doubt whether the warning light is functioning, the circuit is wired so that the warning light glows when the foot brake is applied. Should it fail to do so, the fault is between the pedal switch and the light.

If a light fails, the driver is directed straight to the faults. circuit, as the other lights are not affected. Fitting instructions are easy to follow.
